I forgot to rant about their lack of attention to their kids as well.

I wanted to call in, but got busy and missed it.
I have a new neighbor that has a dog that they apparently don't like. All day when they are gone, they tie up the dog behind their house. He has no shelter from the wind, sun, rain, etc. Not too sure if there is water available on the 90+ degree days. When the dog notices someone in the neighborhood outside, all you hear is bark, pause, bark, pause, bark, etc, for hours on end. This dog happens to see a lot of people outside, since it is a young area, and the backyard touches 4 other backyards, mine included.
That alone is annoying enough, but then to top it off, when these people are home they decide to leave the dog on the back porch for hours at a time. Our porches are about 10' square, with no steps leading down to the ground - so basically a nice prision cell for an animal without opposable thumbs. The dog will do the same thing as when he is tied up... bark, bark, bark..... I know they are home for two reasons - 1) the back slider is open 2) they will sometimes wander outside while the dog is carrying on.
Who in their right mind lets a dog carry on like that? Next time the dog is tied up outside like that, and I'm home to notice it, I'm pretty sure I am going to call animal control. Or report them for animal cruelty, or whatever I can do.
/end rant

Calling the humane society is definitely in order.

My neighbors have atleast 5 mutt dogs that run around. Mutt isn't the problem it's that the dogs are mean, aggressive and always on my property chasing my dog around. I went out and spent over $200 on a chainlink kennel and put a doghouse in it so my dog could be outside on decent days. Well when I came back from town yesterday their 2 dogs had dug in under the kennel and gotten in with my dog and started fighting. My dog is so well behaved that she didn't leave but instead stood there shivering in fright. The neighbor dogs then bowled my wife down when she tried to let our dog out and then tried to fight me when I attempted to scare them off the property. That is when I got the .40 Taurus and rattled a few rounds into the air to let the neighbors know I had my fill.
They're at my house all the time. They have attacked other neighborhood dogs and the pound wants nothing to do with it. So their options were either to do something, or they would have dogs at their facility come Monday morning.
It's not the animals fault, it's the FUCKTARD owners fault.

Wait till the dog comes in your yard and they aren't paying attention, then shoot them. Just say that they were snarling at you and ready to attack you and your kids. Make sure you throw in that you were scared.

Calling the humane society is definitely in order. For RM: Yes, call the Humane Society Immediately. For Howie: See above answer to RM Even though you live in the country there may be county ordinances against dogs roaming free. Look into that. Document all property damage. If they come in your yard when you're home, take pictures, using a camera with a date stamp. Document, document, document. If the Humane Society won't do anything, keep calling until they do. If the dogs are aggressive and trespassing on your property, you should have every right to call the cops.

We have no ordinances, just requirement for licensing the animals, which they don't and said they won't (gotten gigged on it before with last dog attack) Animal Control doesn't care, Sherriff doesn't care and the owner doesn't care. They're gonna get a lead salad pretty soon.

I'd hate doing it though, It's not the dog's fault really. Given the dog found it's way to my, or someone elses, home they woulda been not a menace. I contemplated just kid napping the dog and dropping it off somewhere to roam free and farel

Take the dogs to the City where the animal control officers might give a shit and pick them up. At least then they might have a chance at a decent life. Then again, they might be put to sleep, but at least you wouldn't have their blood on your hands. And your dog and wife wouldn't get pummeled by them.

Not saying I didn't give the owner a few chances first, but it's 3 strikes and you are out in my book. (Of course the same guy put a tree stand up on our property 3 times...the first two we gave it back, the 3rd time it saw the business end of a pipe bender before we gave it back.)

There is a WT house three doors down from mine that used leave their dogs out all the time, too, and those dogs never shut up. After many calls to the cops from me and other neighbors, they only leave them out for an hour at a time now, instead of all day. But they still ride their ATV up and down the street all the time and ride their snowmobile through my yard. When you look at their faces, you can see what inbreeding looks like.
I actually root for their kid to break his neck on his dirt bike (which, of course, he rides without a helmet). I also root for the meth lab that I assume is inside their house to blow up and destroy the house.
My next house will have at least half a mile of separation between me and the nearest neighbor.

It is almost 3/4 of a mile from my parents house to the said neighbor in my first post...that doesn't stop his dogs from coming into our woods all the time tho.

the LFDDNA (Lazy Fucking Department of Dickhead Neighbors Animals) dropped off a shitty live trap for us to capture the 5 dogs that are often in our yard. One trap, that may be big enough for my choc lab for 5 dogs. This morning the trap had caught the neighbors invisible Rotweiler and the have husky was in my dogs kennel humping air.
Beautiful.
I atleast got pictures of ol' air humpy in my yard for proof and, god willing, a $150 fine for my lovely neighbors.

Just heard it on the podcast. Very well done. I think Biff must live on my street. I don't know how many Basset Hounds are left in the backyards to bark for hours on end in the GR area, but wouldn't it be a hoot if it is the same people?
