Is anyone else watching this? Did you see last night's episode?

It's one of the best shows on TV, IMO. When it was set to debut in 2008, my father told me about it after I bought my bike...he figured that, because I own a motorcycle, it must follow that I would like a soap opera about outlaw bikers. I didn't think I would like it, but decided to give it a chance because it's on FX and they have a very good track record of making quality shows. I like SOA almost as much as I liked The Shield.
Haven't seen last night's yet, so no spoilers please!

Dude, all I will tell you is that I did not see that coming (that's what she said). Wait til you see it - you probably know some of it because of last week's previews.
Holy crap.

I never watch the previews because I like to be surprised. I'm looking forward to it--that show tends to make me say "Holy crap" a lot!

If you are interested in this thread and haven't seen the finale yet, read with caution. This post has no spoilers but does give some hints.Dude, all I will tell you is that I did not see that coming (that's what she said). Just watched it. Wow. If, in this case, by "she" you mean Stahl...yeah, that's what she said. I actually did see it coming, but not very far ahead. I began to get suspicious when Clay came to see Gemma in jail and then just started picking up on clues. By the time Stahl arrived at the club house, I had sniffed it out. My friend and I were just talking today about how Stahl always seemed to be three steps ahead of everyone else...not this time.

I read the SoA fan page on Facebook and it is amazing to see how many people are so glad that "the bitch is dead".
I find it amusing because they don't seem to realize that all of the SoA guys are just as dirty, and maybe more, than she.
These guys run guns. They're in bed with various gangs and the IRA. They buy off law enforcement. They kill other people.
It's like people who rooted for the Sopranos characters. The writers made sure to remind everyone that they were scum. The SoA writers do the same thing but it would seem that a lot of fans of the show miss that.

The SoA writers do the same thing but it would seem that a lot of fans of the show miss that. ...but they're also set up to be the heroes of the show. Storytelling in movies and TV became much more interesting when Hollywood chucked the Black Hat vs. White Hat concept and embraced the idea that there is a little good in every bad guy and a little bad in every good guy. That's what made the Vic Mackey character so compelling on The Shield. He was a very bad guy...but you always saw the streak of good in him and could--just barely--defend the bad stuff he did because there was more good that came out of his actions. The Sons are scumbags, no question--but they're honest scumbags. The brotherhood of SAMCRO challenges the "no honor among thieves" notion. They live by their own code and they look out for their own. And they usually leave innocent people alone. I can't remember an episode in which they harmed anyone who didn't deserve it (except Opie's wife, I guess). In contrast, Stahl was a conniving bitch who cared about nobody and saw people as disposable objects that she could use to achieve her goals. That final scene in the second-to-last episode, where she rolls over in bed, pats the place where her partner should be, and then smiles as if to say, "Oh, that's right--I killed her. That was fun!" is enough to make me glad she's dead. But yes...she was hot. Tara, on the other hand, is ugly-hot. "She's ugly, no wait--she's hot! No, she's ugly." I just can't make up my mind, and I have felt that way about that actress in every show I've seen her in. It's very weird.

Kinda like the chick in The Event. I'm getting into that show too. I watch on Hulu on Tuesdays at lunch because my Monday nights are taken.

How the hell can they cancel The Event before the damn event happens?? Because people like me stopped watching it. Sorry, Queenie, but I thought The Event sucked. It started out promising, but it got progressively more outrageous as it went on. I have no problem suspending disbelief, but even a SciFi-ish show needs to have some credibility.

And Katie Sagal has one hell of a plastic surgeon. She has become a bonafide GILF.

I really have a thing for Connie Britton (Spin City, Friday Night Lights). I wouldn't call her hot, per se, but there's something about her that I really dig. I can't wait for American Horror Story--it looks awesome!
But...her character's name is "Vivien." Really? Vivien? What, "Gertrude" and "Mildred" sounded too young?

So, far, I don't think SOA is as good this season. But, they're doing a lot of setting up the story arcs; I do think it will get much better.
