It could be just me but it seems to me that the show is getting "safe". Don't get me wrong. It's still a good show but it seems like they don't even toe the line anymore.
They will still insult people who deserve it but not to the degree that they deserve it in my opinion. I also get the feeling that it has more to do with the syndicator than the show itself.
I understand them protecting their investment because the show is making money as never before. Radio is a fickle environment and the shelf life on a radio show can expire rather quickly.
I'm all for them reaping the rewards of their hard work and talent. However, I think in the process they have toned it down a couple of notches in order to keep some of the markets and it detracts from the show.
Look at that recent link posted where they were slamming Huge. Free Beer put the brakes on it pretty quickly. That wouldn't have happened earlier. Now they're being safe.

That audio was more than a year old. No they haven't gone "safe."

That audio was more than a year old. No they haven't gone "safe." Well with all due respect to your coattail riding no-talent ass, I prefer the opinion of those whose lips aren't permanently attached to the show's dick. The Huge audio was one example and if you took the time to read the rest of my post, you'd realize that. Take the dicks out of your mouth because it will enable you to actually read what people write. Now go back to riding Weiner One's name and sniffing brown of the management at Towne Square so perhaps you can get a job doing overnights for minimum wage.

I think in some ways the show has toned down some of the extreme. Not going to venture far enough to say the show has gone safe, but I do say it's safer than it used to be.

Not safe but definitely much safer. Much much safer.

Who let Lisa Lampanelli in here? Hmmm, I wonder if we should roast the regulars here.....that might make for some entertainment.

I think the show has gotten noticeably safer, kind of in a bad way.

I have only been listening for about a year, so I don't have much history to compare it to. If you all say the show has gotten safer, I'll take your word for it. But they still do things that make me cringe. I somtimes think, "Really, guys? Love the show and all, but do I really need to hear about the explosion of poo in the restroom?"
All that really matters to me is that they make me laugh every day without resorting to phony bits (*cough* Bob & Tom). I never listen to a show without laughing. I might be biased because I went to school and worked with them, so, I dunno, maybe I'm blinded by my happiness at their success. I think the show is great and just don't feel like they're dialing down the funny.

When I think about how safe/not the show is, this is what I use as my measuring stick:
Would I listen to it at work?
That's still a "no" for me. The coworker that sits in the same room has a great sense of humor, but there's content that would offend her, so the office radio doesn't tune into FBHW.

It could be "safer" but we longtime listeners also could have become desensitized to the harshness they often hand out, just an idea.

I don't think you completely understand how a roast works... you don't get to pick the material. Do you think Donald Trump volunteered to be roasted, then said "no jokes about me kicking black people out of their homes?"... oh wait, that happened, didn't it? But they roasted him on it anyway, so I will bet on height deprived jokes coming in a short time!

What would you guys think of having a roast of every outgoing MVP? We could of course start with Allyson since she is the most recent. Next year it's Rebel's turn.

Isn't this board kind of an open fourm for roasting? That may not be the intent, but I think that's the way it has turned out. and by the way... I will volunteer myself.... The last time Allyson said that phrase was at a frat party.

I will volunteer myself.... The last time Allyson said that phrase was at a frat party. Que the Ed McMahon "Hiyo!!"

True, but this one would be formal. A thread dedicated to a roast. Since at a roast, anyone who shows up is fair game, maybe just have an open roast thread, and anyone to post in it is fair game. That way the thinned skinned can stay away.

I don't want any willing participants to start pouting though when shit starts to hit the fan.
