She told him in passing that she just got "banged" by his dad.

She told him in passing that she just got "banged" by his dad. Pretty much. Jim asked what time Zane started his nap and Mrs. Ten said "around 3:30 after we banged".

SO inappropriate...in fact I said out loud in my car this morning (to myself) "What the F is wrong with her??" That and the comment she made to him about his Dad being good in bed. Something wrong with that mother/son relationship. This is not normal behavior. Sorry, Zane!

I'll go borderline, but lean more towards her just making him uncomfortable.
If their relationship is one where they are open and can talk about anything, and that door is open wide enough that he feels comfortable talking about sex with his mother (which I think is a good thing), then that comment was simply an extension of that. My mom was very open with me and I have an extremely good relationship with her that I can talk to her about anything if I need to. I don't have any anxiety about talking to her about anything.
This also might just fall under her coming to the realization that her little boy has or is growing up to become a man and as such, she is treating him like one and talking to him like she would another adult.

Meh, no biggie. Their son is at that age where it's fun to make him uncomfortable. Based off of the various stories Zane shares, I'd say the comments were no big deal and probably not that far out of the ordinary for the family.

Appropriateness is a sliding scale. I think Mrs. Ten has been married to Eric for so long that the concept of "appropriate," as most people understand it, no longer applies. It's not as if Jim can't turn on the radio and hear his father talk about the good harshin' he gave his mother.

Yeah, gotta agree that this is probably "normal" in the Zane household. I grew up in a house that didn't talk about these things, at least not in these contexts. However, when I met my wife and her family they were more open with these conversations and it is nothing weird to them. In my opinion it's better for Jim to know that his parents have such an open loving relationship.
