I must have missed it: why do they play Gilligan's island music before and after the Carbonite ads?

I assumed it was so they could easily find where they do those spots and cut the ads out of the podcast. My most recent freebie month ended before they started to do that, so I don't know if that's what it's actually for.

I think this was Free Beer's idea. Last year, when I gave him grief over how fast he said the phone number, he told me that he uses the phone number as a transition (like I didn't know that), "just like the music between scenes on Gilligan's Island." Great...then, I started hearing that music in my head every time he said the phone number.
Fast forward to recently, when the Carbonite ads started running ad nauseum. Realize the guys are well aware how those live ads screw up the flow of the show. So Free Beer starts coming up with more and more ridiculous ways to segue into the ads, and Zane and Hot Wings start having so much fun picking on that that the message almost gets lost. I'll bet they got a stern e-mail about that from the network boss.
Then, the Gilligan's Island music started showing up. I think this is kind of an inside joke, acknowledging they know they're whores, but they work in radio...that's how it goes.
And they don't use it as a marker to cut if from the podcast. I use it as a marker to know when to fast forward.
