That doesn't make me mad, it makes me laugh! Stealing lines from other play-by-play guys is the last resort of guys who are a) not creative enough to come up with something clever on their own, and b) not smart enough to just call it straight. What a loser. Please tell me he also called the entire game mimicking Ernie's southern drawl.  He probably told himself, "It's okay to steal Ernie Harwell's lines...nobody who listens to minor league baseball on this side of the state has probably ever even heard of him!" We should e-mail Huge a list of other sportscaster catch phrases for him to rip off: Ho-o-o-ly cow! The frozen tundra of Fifth-Third Ballpark... He could...go...all...the...way! *Honk!* *Honk!* (The General Ernie "George Patton" Young) Scoring Horn We see ya, big fella! It's time to warm up the bus, baby! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAL! From downtown! But the most appropriate catch phrase for Huge to rip off is.... And BOOM goes the dynamite!

I called in and here is how it went:

On Sunday afternoon I was listening to the Tigers game on the radio and there was a promo for the Huge Show. Two things immediately stood out:
1. The promo started out, "The only sports talk show in GR that puts you, the callers, first!" This made me laugh, because his show is notorious for how few callers actually get on the air, especially when compared to Sean, Terp and Killer, the show that is destroying him in the ratings.
2. At the end of the promo Huge says something along the lines of, "The Huge Show, only on the new 107.3, WBBL-FM." This is clearly him trying to take a shot at the other sports station here in town, which still calls itself "the new" even though they've been on the air for well over a year. Here's the thing, though, the talent on that station hates that they have to say that, they think it's lame to still call themselves "the new".

It was special. Either he doesn't use a delay or it is a pretty short one because I turned up my radio within 5 seconds and he was already ranting about messageboard losers. I was hoping someone heard it but apparently everyone here is smart enough to not listen to him.

I wonder what kind of person it takes to listen to a full "Huge" show and then think to themselves, "Yes!! That was both intelligent and witty.".
