Nice!
It is a tradition for me to go to my uncle's cottage and that is the plan for Sunday this year. We'll go to the parade in Grandville and the fireworks in the evening.

Back when my wife I and I first started dating we've gone to Schoolcraft for their 4th of July parade. We usually head back to GR for fireworks and stuff.

I get up early and reserve a spot on Wilson for the Grandville parade. I can reserve a spot for you guys too if you don't want to make the long drive to Schoolcraft.

Thanks for the offer, but we're committed to the Schoolcraft parade. We meet a bunch of family down there every year.

I'll be at the Grandville Parade too, some of my best friends own a house right by Wilson and 44th, makes it nice so I don't have to get up to reserve a spot.

I wish I was back in Michigan right now. There is so many good places to watch fireworks. I don't really know of any good spots in Arkansas. I've tried looking at local news websites and radio stations sites but they've not really been any help. One of these days we will be living back up North but right now I gotta be where the works at.

Not much time to enjoy it though as we're only going up there to move my in-laws down here with us.

Grandville is where I was wanting to go, for the reasons you got at with regards to Grand Rapids. We had been trying to convince Gabe and Angie to see them at Grandville too, so I'd love it if all of us could watch them together.

When I was younger, growing up in FL. My mom, dad, sis and I would go out on our boat and water ski, swim, tube, kneeboard, etc. all day, then get back to the house and dry out a little. Then we would head out on the boat again and head north on the Indian River. We would meet my dad's boss and his family out there and hang out with them as the city shot fireworks off the causeway. when everything was done we would head back to the house. I would sit on the bow of the boat with the spotlight and make sure we didn't hit crab traps and manatees. There were always tons of alligators whose eyes would reflect in the spotlight. My sister and I would count how many there were. usually around 13 - 15. When we got back to the house the neighbors would come over and we would shoot off our own fireworks. I really liked the ones that shot out of the mortars. I love the smell of gunpowder. After moving to TN I haven't established a tradition yet. I'm hoping when I get a house of my own, we'll start having a cook out with fireworks.
