So far I like it a lot better than Facebook. The fact that you can share anything with people in any way and all the people you don't want to share it with can't see it is very nice. So is the automatic android camera upload that happens as soon as you take a picture (also not shared with anyone unless you decide you want it shared). It is very similar to Facebook in many ways, but different enough that I like it a whole lot better.

While the concept of keeping certain things private between circles is enticing, I agree with Rebel on this: No, thanks. Google already knows way more about me than I'm comfortable with. Google = Skynet. Hopefully Facebook will create circles too as a result. I'm fine with Facebook.

I'm actually on Google+ but I don't know that I will use it in the same manner in which I use Facebook. Just wait until everyone leaves facebook to join G+, then you'll slide on over. No, really I don't think G+ will be a facebook or twitter killer that some thinks it will be. There's one thing for sure though is that it will force FB to make improvements to keep up and I hope it makes it better. I'm liking G+, more so than Facebook right now (I'm on both). Being able to choose what you share and to who you share it with is awesome. I'm looking forward to when/if G+ opens up its API to see what some people can do with it. If it stays as open as their Android OS there could be some really cool things done with it. There's already some really cool G+ extensions available on Chrome and once they start integrating apps like Calender, Documents, Reader and Youtube and everything else they offer, there's a possibility that it could be very versatile.

Notice the old people here like Biff and Rebel..."I don't like this new internet thingymajig!" While the younger ones of us are already signed up! That's because we old farts read "newspapers." (Actually, you'll be surprised to know I read all my news online.) We know that people are already getting fired over something posted on their Facebook page, or divorced when their spouse Googles them and finds them tagged in an easily, um, "misunderstood" photo. Not to mention this classic post: "I'm going to Hawaii for two weeks on Monday...so excited! By the way, here's a geotagged photo of my kids standing in front of my house!" "Allow my friends to check me in to places?" Are you effin' kidding me?? Hell, no! Who in their right mind would allow that? I really don't like that I can go to Google maps, ask for directions, type in the first two digits of my address and see it autocompleted. That's right...Google knows every place I have ever gone, if I didn't already know how to get there. I'm sure that information will NEVER be abused. Just remember, ain't nothin' free. Google keeps adding all of these awesome services and never charges a dime. So, what are they getting out of it? Your information--tons of it, which you give to them freely. What are they doing with all that information to make money? Now take your SpaceFace and your Google+ Stalking and get off my lawn.

Google can have all the info on me they want. Google+ doesn't allow them to pull anything they can't already find on my Facebook when they do a webcrawl anyway. Steve Jobs would know just as much (if not more) about me than Google would (if I had an iPhone) with their location tracker in their phones. That's even scarier to me than google. If google is skynet then apple runs the matrix.
I just try to be conscious of what I put online and be aware that what goes online doesn't go off.

"Allow my friends to check me in to places?" Are you effin' kidding me?? Hell, no! Who in their right mind would allow that? Oh man, that nearly turned into a big argument with a couple of my friends. Not so much them checking me in at places, which did bug me, but more of THEM checking themselves into my house. And listing it as such. I believe I managed to get it all taken care of, but boy oh boy was I seeing red when I saw they had that out there on Facebook.

That is a big reason I use foursquare, because a home isn't searchable unless you actually look specifically for that name and they allow address ranges. My place looks like it is on a completely different street than the one I live on, on purpose of course.
