MarylandMudflap Scotty L. I wonder if Stephen from the Real World Seattle is preparing to smack Hurricane Irene in the face. 5 of your know what I'm talking about. 25 Aug Favorite Retweet Reply

Shouldn't it be called Severe Thunderstorm Irene?
I get the hype though. That could have gone very horribly. This is one of those exceptions where I will let the media off the hook for the hype. The coastline was very lucky that the storm was only as bad as it was.

it reminds me of all the storms that preceeded Katrina. big hype, big let down. Then when everyone was good and lazy about "hurricanes" the one they actually should have evacuated for or prepared for, they didn't. The lesson about crying wolf is played over and over throughout history. I figure two more hyped up "hurricanes" and then a third one to come in and ravage the place.
