So, if you are tired of the commercialism of Christmas, or any other perversion (not in a good way) of your favorite holiday. Please tell the story of how you are helping , your family, your friends, your community, or a perfect stranger know that all humanity is not lost, and that the spirit of (selfless) giving still exists. Hopefully you will have a story to tell, and after a few are told, I will share my own. Merry Christmas!

My department at work has adopted a local military family whose dad is currently overseas. We're all working on chipping in what we can to give the mom and two sons some nice gifts.

We usually will donate canned foods or something like that to Mel Trotter. This year we've only donated into the program that provides assistance to those who have trouble paying their utilities.
I don't normally air what we do because we like to remain "behind the scenes" but if this helps others give even just a little bit, then I don't feel bad about letting our left hand know what our right hand is doing.

I don't like to talk about my charitable activities, either, but my primary focus this year is on trying to help a down-and-out divorced mom find a job.

Of course if your response was serious and in no way referenced stripping, please ignore my response.

Of course if your response was serious and in no way referenced stripping, please ignore my response. ROFL Consider it ignored. But that reminds me that I'm overdue to make some donations to the local single moms' Christmas funds at Deja Vu...
