Remember those guys? They donated a few cars to the FBHW Holiday break-ins to give to families in need.
I needed a cash car and I remembered them so I paid them a visit. When I was talking with the guy, he told me that some of the people who got the free cars called them to complain about the quality of the cars.
BTW, yes I purchased a car from them. They were great to work with.

I don't know what kind of car was given, but even if they gave somebody I cared about a 90s Taurus with 200k miles on it I'd be thankful. It get's them A to B and helps them survive and grow into the ability to purchase the next step up.
Unless it died within a few weeks of the breakins, I don't see it warranting a complaint, and by the way the Show talked up HyWay, I'd be willing to wager he'd try to make it right.

They were really good to work with. No run around. I called ahead and asked if a certain vehicle was available and if I could run it back to the GR area to have my mechanic check it. They were cool about it. The car is great, I haggled a bit with them and away we went. Everybody wins. The thing about the cars that were donated is this: even if it broke down, they could salvage it for $500 and that's more money than they had before the break-ins. Like you said though, I guarantee HyWay would make it right. They're just good eggs. |

A few years ago, I was in the market for an affordable car and was very tempted to drive over to GR to get one from HyWay, making sure to ask for "Pig Nose" and let them know that it was their FBHW donations that made me come to them. The only reason I didn't was that I ended up buying one from a friend.

It was too early in the season to ride my Fatboy daily until I found exactly what I wanted. I'll have more time this summer and people will be more willing to cheaply part with 4x4s. |
