Insulation work in July is pure joy; especially in the attic of a 92 year old house. Feel free to swing by and do mine next! I'm waiting until later september for a cooler day to crawl up there.

I'll also post a thing best put on Facebook, save for the people it will tick off...
Some of us don't rely on Facebook to run our day-to-day lives. It's all fine and dandy if you want to use Facebook to put together an event and invite people, but don't assume all those people actually use Facebook enough to see it. Perhaps you should consider actually sending people an e-mail/call/text in addition to your Facebook event.

potthole - good point. @biff - Iodine is a radioactive element which was spewed by Fukushima, so their choice of words for the headline was unfortunate. Guess it would have been safe for Facebook, if no-one would have gotten it, anyway.

I'm used to thinking of iodine as part of nuclear testing, like some forms of a cardiac stress test.

This morning, I am feeling every bit of my age.
Friday, I rode my bicycle and, when the the chain slipped off the sprocket, I hyper-extended my hamstring.
Saturday I did a massive push-up workout at the gym.
Monday night I rejoined a competitive adult volleyball league and touched a volleyball for the first time in 6 years.
My body is not happy with me right now.

I'm still paranoid around sewer drains and clutch my keys tight. I'm that way with elevators. In high school I dropped my keys while walking out of the elevator on my way out of work-- they managed to fall right down that small sliver of space between the 'real' floor and the elevator floor. Of course it was a Saturday, so we couldn't get the elevator company in until Monday.

The motorcycle key wasn't a big deal, but the car key was nearly irreplaceable because Saab doesn't exist anymore.

Father-in-law passed away this past Sunday, I know that Biff knows already.
This past Saturday he went out to play his weekly rec league hockey, and barely ten minutes after getting home suffered a bad heart attack. He was brought to the local hospital, but was pretty quickly airlifted to a bigger one about 45 minutes away. He lost consciousnesses at home and never regained it. After 24 hours of life support without any sign of neurological activity and only being given a 3% chance of survival with best-case scenario being vegetative state, the family agreed he would have wanted to be let go on Sunday.
Have been back in Indiana with my wife and her family the past week, the funeral was on Friday, in my father in law's Michigan hometown. Deep down we know we'll all make it through things, but dang was this unexpected and shocking. 59 is too young.

Sympathy and condolences to you and your wife, potthole. Thanks. There will be the bad days mixed in with the good, but the great amount of support that has been shown to everybody in the family certainly helps to make it through those days.
